This image was taken today at a local Nature Center. I liked that he grabbed a beak full of moss. Cloned out a couple of sunflower seeds below the tail. All C&Cs are welcome and appreciated.

What a lovely shot of one of my favorite backyard birds. The perch is great, the exposure spot-on, detail excellent. But the beakfull of moss puts it over the top. Nicely seen and captured, Jim.

Another beauty, Jim. Again, you've captured the personality of these busy little ones. Lovely colors and details.

    Great pose and perch.
I agree with you that the moss in the beak is nice. It makes for a "different" shot.
Your use of fill flash is well done and added that important catchlight in the eye.
    Very nice,
    Gail

I too have a soft spot for these nuthatches, and you captured it with a pretty neat behaviour here. Nice choice of perch, good BG.

Great white breasted nuthatch image Jim. I can't believe you captured this behavior this sharp at the stated shutter speed. I've encountered this type of behavior from nuthatches on my perches before and have never achieved anything this sharp with shutter speed so far below the focal length used. A very richly plumed male bird....gorgeous!
