White Crowned Sparrow photographed recently near the shore of Lake Superior. Some were singing, but not this one. Food used as an attractant.
Canon7d, Sigma50/500os, iso800, 1/160, small crop, NR to the bg, USM to the subject only. Comments and critiques welcome.
Regards,
Shawn Zierman.
I like the pose, perch, HA, sharpness, exposure, composition and sweet BG. Lone water drop on top of the head really adds to the image. Excellent image Shawn.
Like the IQ achieved in the rain, Shawn. The streaking raindrops on that beautiful BG and beads of water on the feathers and beak. A very small nit, would like to see a version with the blacks on the bird and the perch opened up a tad including the eye. Beautiful as posted.
A most appropriate title. Nicely seen, sharp, and full of interest. I'm seeing a magenta cast on the bird, on my monitor. The streaks of rain complete this for me.
Agree with the magenta cast and that is an easy fix.
I would also open up the blacks a little bit.
The rain drops add a nice feel to the image. Great looking bird

The magenta cast and bit of perch merging with the belly are my only concerns here. Nice perch, subject (my favorite sparrow species), and BG. The rain drops add nice weather mood. I've seen quite a few young ones in my yard this fall but no adults as of yet...this makes me hope for at least one to show up!
