    Thanks for the comments on my previous Wood Duck image! Here's a full body version of when it was further away. Traditionally skittish around here, they have been fed and have become gradually tamer over the last couple of years at a local spot. Here this individual is coming in for some cracked corn.

    Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/320s., f/5.6, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, cropped for composition, the yellow BG toned down (it was quite too bright when exposed for the duck), a few specks in the water cleaned up.

    Great display of colors on the head, well exposed, bow wake makes it look like he was in a hurry for the snacks.

    Love the little bow wake. Good job with the exposure....I find that these are amoung the trickiest ducks to get just right. Water color is beautiful.

    My favorite duck. Nice exposure but I might have tried something to clean up the double image on the outline of the tail.

    Excellent image Daniel! I like the exposure, water colour, IQ, full range of head colours and composition.
