Joe, So much to like about this image.....nice, sharp flight pose, open beak, just a bit of blur in the wings to imply motion and a beautiful pastel sky. It would have been nice if he would have put his feathers in better order, but nothing you could do about that. Bird is fairly centered from top to bottom in your frame, maybe try some alternate crops to move him off horizontal center, and a tiny head turn toward us would have been nice, but not fatal to the image, in my opinion.
I like it as is comp-wise. Nice details, good wings-down flight pose, and the open bill adds an element of interest. I'm wondering if the overall colour balance could use a couple of points of reds added.
