Superb view of the Rhino head and horns, I like the conversion, there is nice separation of the Rhino from the BG and texture/details are great.

hi Rachel, I think this is one of your best B&W. The rhino looks massive and the details are excellent. Just enough contrast. Did you use any preset in Nik in the conversion? TFS. Loi

Thanks Sanjeev and Loi. Loi - I go through the various presets to see if there is one I like as a starting point for each image but I have taken to using control points for a lot of my adjustments in Silver Efex.

    Thanks again,
    Rachel

A fine rhino shot if ever I saw one, ideally I would have liked the nose clear of the grass but I suppose that wasn't possible.

    Hi Rachel,

Great detail which shows off really well with the Black and White. I agree with Loi; it does look massive here.

    Best,

Hi Rachel, nice conversion, especially the fact you have a good balance of Black to White with plenty of tone to work with and the dark shadows have enough in them, but not choked or solid. Good to have the head enough out of the grass and to have the contrast of light grass to the subject, gives a bit more standout. Good choice of image to do the conversion, as each image needs to be treated as an individual, and not all images convert well, I also like the fact he is walking 'into' frame.

Lovely low angle Rachel - Emphasizes the size and weight of these magnificent creatures!
