It was my second trip out to see the Caracaras a few of us have been shooting. Sunday is the day as they like to pick things off the road and there is little traffic on Sunday Morning. They seem to fly over, choose a landing spot and bank back to it. They allow you to get plenty close, But having them land close can be a wait.

Great banking pose in nice light, with good detail and techs. It pays to watch the bird and figure out his routine.

Nicely captured. What are the artifacts under his beak from? And I believe that we are seeing a bit of his talon? That confuses me and I would remove it.

Good banking pose and I love the tail flare. I'm OK with bit of talon peeking through, but I would remove that "string" below the bill just because it is difficult to tell what it is. Pretty cool overall!

Thanks for the input Grace. Those are whiskers on the chin, The raw file shows they are matted or have possibly food attached, So I agree they should go, An easy fix. Thanks for pointing it out as I have several other frames with the same flaw.

I like the sharpness, banking pose, composition and splayed tail. Nice image Robert.
