    Default Scarlet Tanager

I'm a bit of a Tanager nut. I absolutely love this colorful group of birds. I had photographed numerous species in Costa Rica when I was there a few years back but had yet to get any decent images of the one Tanager that can be reliably found in my home province of Ontario. I made it a priority this past week and managed to finally get some images of this species that I am happy with. Here's one that I hope you will enjoy :D

    Camera Model: Canon EOS 40D
    Shutter speed: 1/80 sec
    Aperture: 8
    Flash: -1 2/3
    ISO: 400
    Focal length: 500mm + 1.4x
About 95% of frame: cropped for comp and added canvas on top.

Wow, really colorful bird. Wish we had this kind of birds where I live. :)
Really love the background in this picture, think red and green makes a nice combination. Great sharpness too.

    Hey Glenn,

Lovely pose with a very nice BG. The image looks a little dark but at the same time it has a rain forest feeling to it!

    Gorgeous!
