Big welcome and congratulations on your new lens !! This is a beautiful spcies and one I have not seen. I like the pose and head turn as well as eye contact but would like to have seen a little more detail in the head area as well as a cleaner BG. If you post your techs it would be most helpful. thanks for sharing with us and I will look forward to your future posts.

You mentioned in a previous post that you wished you got birds like the Scarlet Tanager in Sweden. Well I don't think you are doing too badly with the Bullfinch- a truly spectacular bird. I think some lightening of the image would benefit so long as you didn't reveal noise in the dark areas. You may find you have some detail in the black around the face, which would be nice to bring out, particularly around the eye. You may want to consider a crop giving more room on the right, in the direction of where the bird is looking.

Big Welcome !!!!! Very glad to have you with us !!!

Agree with all points covered !!! For selective lightening there is a new tool !!! The Beta version of LightRoom has just that. Might want to download (its free for 30 days if you are not registered) Very easy to use and will have a difference !!! Looking forward to many more !!!!

    Hi Mats,

Red carpet welcome to BPN, I have a lot of on-line friends in your neck of the woods :)

Beautiful bird and good advise given above.
Looking forward to more of your work and the moody light that I like so much in the Swedish images!!!
