Baby ele in golden light, our ranger said the baby was prob days old. I liked the eye contact I got and that extended trunk as if reaching out to us. I cropped slightly tighter to emphasise on the cute face and details. I could use the full frame image with bit more room around if you suggest doing so. Cheers.

Hi Sanjeev - a new favorite of yours for me. A very high cute factor and well processed. Love it for the same reasons as you do, the eye, the outstretched trunk and the golden light. Sharp with good details and enough dof to get the whole trunk sharp. I would prefer more room below at least. Congrats on this one.

    TFS,
    Rachel

Cute little guy, nice sharp detail and lovely light. I would just try and bring the crop down slightly and a little more room around I thin would work well.

I agree with the comments on the bottom but it is such a cute little punk. Really well processed and techs look good. Sanjeev lately I have really been pushing my ETTR and seem to be getting a lot less noise issues. Looking at some of your work lately, although the light is good it seems that you may be doing a similar thing. I may be wrong but besides that your images are really improving and I don't think you have be a master to see that.

Thanks Rachel, Dumay & Carl. Yes Carl, particularly with the 7D I tend to ETTR by say 1/3 stop and then pull back highlights a bit. That helps reduce noise. I hope the new 7D II delivers better IQ. I plan to buy the new body as a back up for the 5D III.

Wow, that is VERY young, and VERY cute! I love the light and pose too, and you'd be hard pressed to get a calf as young as this not glued to its mother's legs and being protectively sheltered by the entire herd.
    Well done, Sanjeev...

A cutie for sure, Sanjeev. I agree with Dumay to bring the crop down a bit to better focus on that little guy.

    Best,

Hi Sanjeev, with that raise trunk I defy anyone not to say aaaah a very endearing capture.

My only bit to add would be, just drop the Exp a fraction say a third, it brings a bit more tone back in, likewise adding a Graduate filter at the foot of the image will address those brighter areas too, so overall the light isn't as strong. Also perhaps dropping the Yellow & Orange so it's a little less 'Golden' but just a personal thought?

    TFS
    Steve
