    This image of a Red Knot searching for Horseshoe Crab eggs was captured this past May at Reed's Beach, NJ. C&C welcome

    D700, Nikon 500mm + 1.4 tc, 1/2000, f 8.0, ISO 1000, Gitzo tripod, Wimberley Gimbal head.

    I remember that day. We didn't get to Reed's Beach until mid-day, creating some tough lighting, but you handled the shadows well. It was a treat to watch this endangered species refueling on tiny Horseshoe Crab eggs before heading for the high Arctic. I like the raised foot, and the fact that you included the Horseshoe Crab. I'm wondering if toning down the brightest tones might help?

    you did well with the low angle but the light was quite harsh, the OOF object on the right is distracting

    Great to see one in breeding plumage. Love the plumage and the raised foot.

    Nice! Were you able to get one where it is another step or so closer to the crab?

    Thanks Everyone. Yes Diane there is one more frame a bit closer to the crab, but the head is slightly turned removing the catchlight from his eye.
