This is another frame from the same scene, with a tighter zooming (88mm) & crop, albeit a fraction of the head /mouth is covered by grass.

    7D and 70-200 f/2.8 II
Steve, I used f/4 to get higher SS to stop motion as ISO was already 800.

Hi Sanjeev, I might have held back on this as it's so close to the previous. For me there is still not enough space to the rear (did you crop or is this FF on the RHS?) and unlike the previous one and as you mentioned, the head is partially covered which is not ideal. Using a zoom is certainly harder than a fixed lens, but it does give you a better call on 'framing' the subject. Looks a good size 'unit'.

Nice looking rhino and the way he's blocking the road gives a good indication of their size.

Can't add much more than what Steve said here, Doc.
I feel the previous frame is stronger for the reasons mentioned.

Hi Sanjeev - another nice look at the rhino but add me to those that think the previous posted image is stronger.

    Hi Sangeev,

After reading the replies to this posting, I went back to view the previous image. I agree that it is the stronger of the two; for me I like that the rhino has more room to move into and that the head is fully in the open. I'm thinking you might be happier with a pano crop and adding a bit more punch.

    Best,
    Katie
