Last winter while photographing Snowy Owls on Amherst Island, I came across these two barnyard friends. It was -30C that day, so I think they were trying to keep each other warm. I used my favorite CS5 effect, "poster edges" on this image. It by far is the best graphic looking effect out there.

I've posted photos from my pelagic trip out of Westport, Washington on my blog, click on the link below, have a look.

Has the AW factor Paul! Nice choice of filter, and I agree poster edges gives a really nice illustrative look. I wonder what a step to the right would have done to reveal more of the dogs eyes, but very nice as presented.

Super composition and a very compelling, tender image. I like the Poster Edges, and the softness of the colors is consistent with the story. You've got some good primary diagonals, too. Very, very nicely done.

Lolol...Jacki a step to the right would have put me directly behind an out building, I was hoping the dog or the horse would move a bit but they just stayed that way.

This is darling. Poster edges worked very nicely on simplifying the image and yet still showing details. I enjoyed reading your blog and your bird images are great! You're cruising closer to that 700 number for US birds!

I like the effect of the poster edges, especially on the horse and the background (although not so much on the hay). You caught the horse in a great pose: the half-closed eyes adds to the feel of the image. Very sweet and, as Dennis said, compelling.
