I found this bird (my wife did) along a forest trail up in Algonquin.
It quickly entered into the forest but remained visible for a couple of more minutes.
The light was just like anywhere else in a dense wet forest.
Thanks for looking.

Nice look-back pose and great detail. I particularly like the colors of the forest floor. I'm wondering if there's a slight bluish cast to the whole image, but it gives an appropriately cool, damp look suitable to the setting.
Great pose. I would like to see more on the top and right, but it's also nice how it is. I would definitely remove the little trash piece in the LR corner.
Karl I find the BG and habitat interesting but I might try to tone the yellow bit near the birds head down a tad, that apart the look back pose and the quality of the bird looks great.
karl, I can't count the number of times, I've been to Spruce Bog looking for Spruce Grouse without luck. Lighting always sucks under the canopy. Very nice result though, love the head turn.
Super shot Karl excellent pose, the little mushrooms add too. I think I would remove the yellow leaf bottom right.
I have just made a levels layer and clicked the white dropper on the white patch on the neck beneath the eye. I think it helps a little and I suspect it may be trying on th raw conversion.
