    Taken from garden hide Canon 1DX Canon 500mm f4 Auto ISO 1000 1/2000 sec f8, as it turned out the subject was very underexposed, although the background was directly behind the bird the light intensity was much lighter there. I will have to check out the positioning of the feeder - I move it around to avoid the same old background.

    Difficult to catch such smaller fast flyer so you did well just to get it in the frame. I think selectively sharpening the head and darkening the background might make it better.

    I'm not sure about this one, Jon. It is either my old eyes or it is not sharp.

    Joel Karl I think you're right, the crown is sharp but the eye is not quite there.

    Hey Jonathan, I can't imagine trying to get one in frame like you did. That said, it seems that the setup could use a pair of flashes to help you freeze the bird and get a tack sharp image.
