I captured this image recently at Circle B Bar Reserve in Polk County, Florida. As I walked along the trail I saw this heron in the flooded marsh, I gave it a couple of clicks but thought it probably would not be anything I would save. After passing it I noticed it had flown to the top of a bush. That gave me the opportunity to isolate it and use the marsh vegetation in the distance for a pleasing background. So I returned and shot several images. I also have a vertical version of this image with a tighter crop of the bird. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

What a pleasing image, Joe. I like your choice of composition, with lots of room around the bird. Are those blue feathers in the shrub? My only suggestion would be to increase the contrast a bit on the bird's head, it look just a bit washed out to me.
Circle B. I have heard and read so much about the place which I suspect is a must visit venue for all wildlife photographers. I can't wait to get there myself. This image is close to perfection with the eye of the heron a little too high in the frame for my taste.
I like the image, I am not familiar with the location or the bird so I may be wrong but is there a colour cast?
Perhaps the image is just a tad bright - sorry to sound a bit negative it is not intended but something is troubling me.
