Default Textures: A Mute Swan Portrait

A Mute Swan pair are constant features on our local lake, to such an extent that I almost never turn the lens in their direction. But when this one swam up close and demanded to sit for his portrait, I capitulated. I liked the wet bill, knob like a miniature lava field, and various feather textures. Shot in March of this year.

What a lovely portrait, Bill. The feather details are amazing, and I love the light blue BG and the hint of water droplets on the feathers. Very pleasing.

This is one kick a** image Bill.
The detail is superb. I feel like it is a 3D image and that I could reach into the computer screen and touch the swan.
Great soft light and love the small droplets in the neck feathers.

It is a real beauty. One of the best portrait of this species I have seen for as while, Bill.
