Great moment, dynamic pose and good light with natural color. Well done shot of this small and fast bird. I like the pose and all details on the bird. If mine I would edit the right/down side of BG to decrease the strong transition from bright to dark and I would change the frame/crop - add some canvas in the direction of the movement. TFS.

    Cheers,
    Miro

Great action, nice sharpness on face and leg, good light. I second Miro's suggestions.

Wonderful moment, and great detail. I might be wrong, but seems the mid tones in BG could use a bit of NR. Beautiful as posted.

Well done Jonathan, these birds in flight are very difficult to capture. Very nice. Thanks for sharing

Sweet flight shot! I love the talon poised for landing.

Nice frame of this small bird in flight. Not easy at all, so well done. The face is pretty sharp as is the foot ready for landing. I think a little looser comp will look good and a little more sharpening might help the feathers on the chest. Great work.

Thanks very much everyone much appreciated. Images like this are easy to take but not so easily obtained, I had dozens of shots that looked good until I looked at higher magnification and then they were just a tad out. Needless to say all the ones with the big flared wings and open bills etc fall into this category but I will continue as soon as we get a little light. From what I can see opportunities in October in UK will be limited due to a great deal of rainfall and cloud. (Typical Brit moaning about the weather!)
