The Snowy Owl can glide in just inches off the ground without making a sound. I was fortunate to have a rare beautiful sunny afternoon but cold in Ottawa with Dan last February. Going thru the old files to improve my PP. My goal is to retain good details on the owl while not getting the snow gray. I like this frame since there is a catch light in one of the eyes and the horizon does not cut thru the owl.

Oh yes Loi, what a lovely image. Beautiful whites. The owl looks great against the BG and the trees then blue sky compliment the image very well. If it were mine I would remove the wee bit snowball below the owl. Well done. Thanks for sharing this

Very nice shot! The whites are very well exposed. Also love the owl's position in the frame, without the snow-treeline horizon intersecting it.

    Hi Loi.

Great shot of nice bird in flight. I like the exposure, the white tones of snow & bird are well balanced. The wings position reminds me (as you noted) about no sound effect. TFS.

    Cheers,
    Miro
