I don't think anyone has posted a Nyala yet for this month's theme. Taken in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, South Africa.

This is a beautiful specimen Rachel, its beauty highlighted by the sun coming from the 'right' direction. I probably would have burnt the inside of its right ear just a tad, but it's beautiful regardless. Well done!

Probably my favourite antelope as far as aesthetic beauty is concerned, Rachel.
Nice pose in nice light, can't ask for more than that. How about taking some off the top?

Hi Rachel, he certainly was a nice specimen in fine condition too, just wished he hadn't posed behind the dead wood.

Looks good with a nice balance of colour, albeit in strong light. Detail also looks good and the slight head tilt shows the antlers off and those lovely ears. If the IQ can take it, then I might look at a tighter crop based on this, the 7D has come up trumps, cool. Just clocked that raised rear leg, offers for an interesting pose.

Cool looking Nyala and well processed and composed. I like that slight head turn and eye contact. We did spot a few Nyala at Timbavati but not many keepers for me.

Hi Rachel, love the light in this, which in turn has brought out the colours and detail on the Nyala nicely. Comp wise, I would leave the top, but take a touch off the RHS.

I am late to the party but agree that I would take some off the top.
A beautiful antelope for sure. I just wish the fallen logs were not intersecting with the rump.
    IQ is good as always,
    Gail

I like the crop showing more of the landscape above, particularly the way the headgear is aligned with the background trees.
Works for me as it is

Hi Rachel, very nice specimen, tack sharp, good head angle. I see why you left a good space on top. The little bit of blue sky gives a sense of scale an depth. A closer crop while better showing the subject would lose that sense. Loi

Very photogenic animal. Like his placement between the lighter background branches. Just a touch off the top for me.
