Theme - Bosque white on white

From my trip to Bosque del Apache last year and the magical snow fall. Straight out of the camera, levels adjustment.

Very beautiful Cheryl. I love the mountains in the bg and all the frenetic activity. I might try a slight gradient from the top to tame the brightest tones. I am curious about what the line in the image is???

My first inclination was to suggest cropping a bit from the top, but -- because the contrast between the calm sky and the take-off of the flock is very effective -- I like it better with the amount of sky you chose. It must've been wonderful to be there in person and have the sounds superimposed on what we see, here. The slight upward angle from left to right of the clouds and some of the background color fits very nicely with the take-off.

That's really pretty Cheryl! I wasn't able to go last year and I missed this. Perfect for the theme too. I think the line that Jackie is seeing is the railroad tracks that are on the western boundary of the refuge.

I wondered if a slight flat tunnel gradient (from middle a gradient dark to white both up and down, covering, say, the middle 50%). Here overlay blend at 24%



just an idea that could use a little more work. The OP is grand.

Great seeing and capturing! I like Michael's touch -- subtle but very nice.

I would try leveling the tracks -- they need a slight CW rotation. Even if they are on a grade or at an angle, there isn't information in the picture to convey it.

Nice work Cheryl, but its way too early for snow....it took me a sec to see the birds , very nicely done. I also vote for cloning out the tracks...

Unbelievable numbers of snow geese!! I like all the pale layers of geese on the ground, geese in flight and then the mountains, & sky. However I do like the subtle difference in Michael's posting. I would consider cloning out the tracks.
