Got this one posing for me last week, attracted to a feeder. Canon 5D3, 600 II + 1.4x, Wimberley. ISO 1600, f/11, /500, clearing fog. Minimal basic adjustments in LR. To PS for a little beak cleanup, subtle darkening with a curve and Nik Dfine, on general principles, which it really didn't need as the basic exposure was to the right.

60% of the full frame. I'd love to have some subtle detail in the BG, especially on the left, but no chance with where the perch was.

    C&C always appreciated!

Hi Diane. Great pose, composition and eye contact. Very clean BG, sharp bird with 100% details. Well done setup and shot. If mine I would try to add some midtones contrast to the bird and a bit darken the perch (the part on the right side of the bird). TFS

    Cheers, Miro

Lovely shot the details are excellent, the DOF is just about perfect. In many ways this bird looks rather like our greenfinch.

Looks good overall Diane, with pleasing details and composition. If a setup it is rather easy to add something in the BG for colour variation. I'd look into selectively darkening the blacks in the wings and tail, just for a bit more punch there.
