Default Little owl just before the sun set

I didn't hold out to much hope tonight of getting the bird in early ,but luck was on my side ,the male came in just before the sun was due to set and came straight in, possibly down to the last two nights were we had rain ,he was very confident which is unusual for this time of the year were normally they are very skittish and a lot more wary than they are in peak breeding season anyway after he took the mouse he actually took it just above me on a ledge stashed it and came back to hang around for a while ,two noisy crows not far away moved him on after a nice visit from him .ID MKIV 1/640 SEC 300MM F4 ISO 400 +33 EV Little owl October 4th october 2014 by den9112, on Flickr

Hi Dennis. Well done shot. I like the bird pose on the perch with prey. BG is clean with nice tone. If mine I would try to change the framing (I'm the fun of 2:3 & 3:2) but has no idea about full size. The white on the leg could be resolved too. TFS & thank you for an interesting and detailed description.

    Cheers,
    Miro

Nice pose, perch, neat prey item in the talon. Good looking BG too. Nice light but I'd fiddle with the WB a bit - seems it needs a tad more reds in there.

Lovely pose and light. The yellows in the bird are looking a bit strong. I would try a color balance adjustment or fiddle with the white balance as Daniel suggests.
