Sometimes white birds in flight against high key bgs make striking images, but I think the strong light from above kind of overpowers the image.

Hello Jim, thank you for viewing and commenting. I appreciate you sharing your experience and knowledge. What you say explains why I had such a hard time working up this image, it just never looked right. A lesson learned for future use.

First of all, Joe, great try on a difficult white on white subject. It's not a great shot, but it's a good shot. I agree with Jim that the sun on the bird's back and head is what's hurting this image. Love the curling up of the wingtip and the delicacy of the under wings.
