    Default Grey Heron: Another one on different background.

    Image was created in the month of May, 2014.They had nest on the tree along the bank of lake.
    This male was repairing his nest. Had many image, however light direction was not ideal. Basic editing, cropped for composition. NR applied to BG.

    ISO :800, 1/2500,@5.6.Shutter priority. Exposure Bias, -0.3. 550D,100-400.

    Very nice composition, with clean BG and good techs. Was the shadows lifted too much?

    Nice work! it gives the image a 3D look. I would place the bird higher in the frame.

    Nice wing position and head angle. I like the green bg too. I agree with placing the bird a bit higher in the frame. A lower angle, if possible, may have helped when making the image.

    I like the heron, and I like the BG, but those two elements look to be from different images? The heron has a very "cookie cutter" outline as if it was pasted on to the BG. Just curious as to what caused that...

    Daniel Sir, Thank you so much for your feed back. Attached is RAW file edited as...Shadows+60, Blacks+2 and clarity:+32. Cropped and converted to JPG for web. Advice is highly appreciated.

    The raw you posted looks much better as far as the "cookie cutter" aspect goes but it is still a bit there. Perhaps you added too much shadow and clarity. The original post has a black outline around most of the subject that magnifies the effect I am seeing.
