The light and BG and bird are topnotch.
The perch makes for a difficult crop. I think I would crop this to a vertical by coming in from the right to the second stem,

Killer bird, light, BG and even perch. However, the perch on the far right isn't working for me. I think I'd try the vertical and work a horizontal to take some off of the right.

While I do like the perch, I am finding myself looking at it more than your subject, especially the part of it on the right (as viewed). Good suggestions above. That being said, the bird is wonderful, nice and sharp and good details in the whites and blacks. BG is perfectly complimentary. (I would do a bit of housecleaning under his right foot, looks like a poo)

Excellent image with superb color pallet. Beautiful pose, colors, fine details and composition.
You have lots of options for composition. In any composition he will look great. Just arrived here, yet to photographed.

Love the warm tones and perch. I agree that another crop would work better, removing the right side more.

I agree with comments about the crop, but it could work this way too. As long as the bird is sharp and in good light with good HA, that's half the battle, and you have all these things. Well done.

Thanks everyone, yes you identified my problem, I made several differing crops and I did make a 3:4 vertical along the lines suggested. I was just undecided which way to go (I did have to do a little cloning)I have another image in a similar position with the bird in a different pose, I will post and see if you prefer it.
I attach the original (unsharpened) rescaled to 12000px just for your interest:

    Very cool bird indeed.
Yes, cropping here is tricky but I would go with a vertical crop for this one. Very nice light and a nice bird too. TFS.
