    Default Sable strut

    Continuing Tobie's sable post.

    One from my '09 archives.
A beautiful Sable ram strutting his stuff with an accompaniment trio of Red-billed Oxpeckers.
    My favourite african antelope.

    Moremi GR- Botswana

D3 500 f/4 VRII 1/500s f/4 ISO200. F/F. I gave in to temptation and removed an annoying dk BG mass (a treestump, if I remember) that was placed right in the middle of his horns, and added a small amount of canvas for more (virtual) leg room.

    C & C most welcome

    Cheers
    Marc

Lovely image Marc. The oxpeckers in an arc so much to this. I only wish for a slight head turn towards us. Oh fine pair of horns as well.

Hi Marc - Nice image - Soft light bg shows him off well. If he was angling more in your direction or a slight head turn would improve it slightly but still like it. The oxpeckers add to the scene as well. I know you added some canvas on the bottom but I think some on the LHS might help too.

Agree that a little more LHS canvas would be preferable but achieving that is more problematic in correctly aligning the vertical curves in the grass stalks. Not impossible, but needs more time spent.

Hi Marc - nice light and I like the open plains. I too wish that the sable wasn't angled away from you. Good job on adding the canvas.

Angle mentioned, but the birds and the light make this very nice!

Nice one Marc! No need for me to repeat some of the other valid remarks. The soft BG creates a nice contrast with the birds. Nice animal in prime condition!

I am late to the party but have to say I love the birds ( I am showing my true colors here!). I have to echo the others comment about the angling away position of the sable.
What a beautiful, healthy, glossy coat this male has.
    Your PP work looks good,
