    Default Osprey in Flight

    Canon 7D + Canon 400mm f/5.6L, 1/1600 @ f/7.1, +1EV, ISO 640, HH, Cropped

Here is another Osprey image I captured on a breezy day from my boat in central Texas.

    Thanks for looking.

    David:

I like the framing, trees in background to give some depth (perhaps a bit less bright however, in a perfect world), well exposed.

Wish the head was angled towards us a bit, and perhaps a bit more of a bank so we could see a bit more of the underside of the near wing. Certainly not bad as is.

    Cheers

These guys seem to love flying-by with the heads angled away eh! I could see a version with a bit more room in front. I like the hint of forest habitat in the BG. A good amount of light hitting underneath the wing too.

This repost is almost full frame with no more room upfront without adding canvas. I see what you mean about more room up front... sometimes I get caught up in trying to crop too tightly to seem more detail.

Thanks everyone, yes a little better HA would have been nice...I tried asking nicely but he just ignored me.

For the first 2 years I photographed birds seriously, cropping too tightly was one of my biggest issues. When you step back and photograph more of the entire scene, it gives you options when it comes time to put the image on the chopping block. I prefer the RP with more room.
