    I had the opportunity to get close to this bird last Saturday morning. The image was captured at Circle B Bar Reserve in Polk County, Florida.

    Nikon D7000
    Nikon 80-400mm F/4.5-5.6 VRII AF-S ED 390mm (585mm FFE)
    1/1600 F/5.6 +1 1/3 EV ISO 3200
    Post processed in Lightroom 5

    Hi Joe, great details in good light and BG. Since the bird is looking left (our left), if you have more space on the left, that would be nice I think. Loi

    This portrait works so well against that stunning green BG, and it's a fun pose. You have great feather details here. I would personally prefer some off of the right and some more on the left if you have it.

    I only had the opportunity once to photograph this species, and I had a blast doing so. Excellent portrait, well exposed and sharpened. The repost(s) really give this image the compositional balance it needed and deserves. You caould try a version with a slightly warmed up WB.
