Ventured out at first light this morning and was pleased to catch up with this Great White Egret. Its a nice bird for my location in the UK. I had to use the 2X converter but pleased with the detail and bird pose.

    5D MKiii, 500 + 2X extender, ISO2500, f8, 1/800ss - processed in Lightroom 5 and PS 2104. Comments always appreciated.

Hi Simon, very nice pose and in good light. I'd suggest to try to get a little more details on the white if it was not a large crop. Loi

Lovely shot Simon, good exposure nice pose. Occasionally we get one or two here but mostly little egrets (quite a number now- hundreds). I have no reservations over the 2x or the 1.4x TC I just ensure a fast shutter speed - tripod or not.
