    Jon:

The soft light really makes the orange leg pop. Nice tucked in look back pose, seems like he wants you to leave so he can go back to the nap.

Vertical def. the way to go with this pose. I might try a version with less room on left, more on right if you have it, just to see how the balance is that way. It feels vaguely awkward as is, but perhaps just the pose itself!

    Cheers

I did try moving the bird left and right, in the final analysis I don't really think it is that much of a shot, when I looked through the camera I saw those two sleepy eyes looking at me and I thought there was an image but maybe not.

    Jon:

Def. a keeper for me, just presents some compositional options.

The bright orange , single leg adds that pop to make it stand out, for me.

It's not easy to get new takes on subjects when there is so many of us out there trying - this works nicely for me. A refreshing change and a BG that shows just enough detail to know he's in his natural environment

Hi Jonathan, agreed with Randy that the orange leg stood out very nicely. Looks like you didn't have much light, so the image is just a little bit flat for me. Not much you can do about it though. Loi

I like the eye contact, perch, sharpness and the single orange leg really adds to the image. I like Randy's composition suggestion. Very well done Jonathan.
