In this image the young Sanderling has a full crop, and I do not mean a full-frame image (which it is), but rather biologically. It had fed on 3 large worms in less than 15 minutes before I took this image and now his crop is bulging. It is so much fun photographing these confiding young shorebirds, especially when you can creep up to them for frame-filling portraits!
