    Default Brown Falcon (Falco berigora)

    Brown Falcon is widespread in Australia and occurs in much of New Guinea. It is the most common Falco species in Australia. This guy was captured on the south coast with oof sea and a backwater in the background.

    Canon 5DIII + 600 mm f/4L II + 1.4x III extender, hand-held.
    Manual, f/7.1, 1/2500 sec, ISO 800.
    Processed with DPP4 and PS Elements.

    Hi Ian, beautiful bird and BG. The crop is tough since the bid looking straight at you, the negative space in front looks a bit empty. I wish the bird would turn its head away from you a little so that the half face is not in the shadow. Loi

    Ian :

    The falcon is great, sharp, well exposed, with pleasant bg. Wonderful color harmony. I appreciate the shading on the face issue, but the eye contact is so good, it works for me. Might do some very subtle lightening of that side.

    Crop is interesting challenge because of pose, as mentioned by Loi. I would personally try a version with some off the right, and a small bit off the top to balance the ratio.
