A slightly different pose to the normal one expected, it makes a change. The exposure may have been a little on the high side I suspect some of the colours are not quite right eg blacks a little bright as are the whites on the neck. The red cap has a rather yellow look to it. I don't know if you tried this but in the ACR conversion try pressing the Alt key when you click on the blacks it might provide a few valuable clues. Hope this helps.

    Hi Johnathan

Thanks for your remarks. The yellow on the red cap is actually the original colours

A nice bird, cool head turn and pose. I wish the light was a tad less and I would increase the contrast a bit.

I like how we are looking down on it - it provides a neat perspective. As posted the image has a reddish cast to it, and lacks "punch" on the blacks - as well as blown whites. For the repost I did the following in CS6:

+15 blue and +12 green in "Color Balance"
    -50 points blues in Saturation
    +10% Shadows in S/H
Burn tool @ 8% exposure, set to shadows, on the black tail and wing feathers, as well as the darker parts of the perch
    about 90 seconds work.

Blown highlights I did nothing to but worth revisiting your raw file to see what can be pulled out there.

    Hope you like the result!
