    Default Snowy Owl (Again)

I had a long flight back from Europe, so worked on this image taken last february in Ottawa with Daniel. Looking forward to the winter and just want to review my images from that trip. I left my 500 f4 home, so had to make do with a 70-200 and TCs.

Cropped bottom, right, added a sliver of canvas on top.
    Owl was baited.

    Thank you for your comments.

Stunning shot Loi. This has a bit of everything for me - beautiful subject with a full wing span pose and fully open eyes. The details on the owl are perfect for my taste, and then the background, and the trailing snow finish things off. A real wall-hanger

I like the fanned tail, snow trailing off the feet, setting, exposure and composition. The owl is positioned perfectly with the trees in the BG which makes it stand out nicely. There is a little orange spot behind the owl where the trees meet the snow that I would clone out. Beautiful image Loi!

Beautiful bird, nicely shown. I like the wing position and fanned tail, the eyes open. All look great against the background of the forest and snow. Thank you for sharing.

Loi, it's incredible that you managed to get this guy betweeen the sky and the snow. I mean, you couldn't place it any better!

There is an orange spot behind the tail that I would clone out, otherwise it's great!

Great shot Loi - even if you had to make do!! I think most folks would be pleased with an image of this quality. A super pose and the way it is portrayed in it's environment is excellent. I also like the discrete snow dust trail.

Having the owl right on the treeline makes it pop nicely. Yes, I'd certainly clone out that orange skidoo trail marker.
