Just like this nest building Roseate Spoonbill, I'm busy preparing for the 2015 nesting season.

    James:

I agree, great to see you posting! And of course, it had to be a Spoonie!

Bird with great breeding plumage, stick, raised foot balances well, bright but well exposed.

Great one to start back up with.

    Look forward to many more!

Great to see you posting, Captain James, and a lovely image it is. Killer light, colors with fun behavior. If it were mine, I might take a tad off the bottom and add on top. Just personal taste.

Froggie, Do my eyes deceive me??? I had to check to make sure that I was not in a time machine. I loved this one when you sent it the other day. It is stunning. Composition-wise I would not change a pixel. I would work on either toning down the WHITEs a tad or at least bringing in some more detail there. I love the perfect head angle, the raised foot, the killer breeding plumage, and the angle of the stick.

If anyone would like info on a 4 1/2 day trip that James and I are running in the 2nd half of February, the prime time for breeding plumage spoonies, please shoot me an e-mail. Nine, count 'em, nine sessions on the Hooptie Deux including five mornings. Limit six. Though I have not advertised the trip yet there are only three slots left.

Great colours here with the pink on blue. Raised foot is really neat. This is also a behaviour we do not often see photographically do that is a bonus.

For anyone that is on the fence about booking with Captain James I can vouch on how much of a fun, exciting, and productive time it is on the Hooptie Deux.

Nice looking frame of this fully lit male. He looks awesome and you captured him perfectly. Nice colors and exposure control on this also. Well done.
