Took a couple of days off work this past week to enjoy the outdoors. I had a chance to photograph some local species in some neat habitat, and I hope to share that here for some feedback.
One of my favorite species from here is the Curve-Billed Thrasher. Their high-pitched call is like nothing I've heard in FL before and it's my second favorite sound (only after the Sandhill Crane ... which is currently the ringtone for my alarm). At a local trail these guys are abundant, and when it's nearing sunset they aren't shy to come out and sing for a bit. I'm not sure how I managed, but I happened to be at the right place when this one decided to land on what I would consider a very nice perch (all natural, not set-up). I came home with over 300 images of this guy (tried all kinds of orientations and settings). This has to be my favorite from the bunch.
What a great looking frame of this species Miguel. The calling pose with the side profile looks fantastic and the BG and the dried up cactus perch are perfect for this species. Great looking natural shot!
Come join me for a Custom Raptor Workshop starting this November 2019- January 2020.
P.M. me to inquire on dates, pricing and availabilities. Thank You. www.davidsalemphotography.com
I love all the complementing colors here, from the bird to the BG. Nice eye contact and clarity - even exposing the tongue. Great perch too. Well done Miquel!
Hi Miguel one stunning frame very nicely processed .
Cool pose with the tongue visible . Like the overall color and the nice density in the tones . Very well done , Sir
Looks great! Looks like a setup, pretty cool that this occurred "au naturel". Well balnced vertical composition, and I also like what appears to be berry stains on the chin and somewhat sprinkled on the chest/belly.
