Sand martins ready to leave for Africa.
They would all gather around a small pool where my hide was situated, and sit on reed stems in their dozens. Difficult shot in the evening and the stem was bouncing up and down all the time. Got some nice stuff on Willow herb too.

They won't be there again as the sand quarry has now been filled in.

Not my sharpest of shots but can't have it all !

Everything works for me here ... the BG is excellent and the expressions are fabulous! Looks to me pretty pretty sharp ... I would be ecstatic with this one if it was mine

Looks like a good effort in the circumstances John. Love the 'dorky' expressions on their faces. Regards, Ian

Oh wow John, this is a very special image. Such a cute subject, awesome BG and lovely detail on all 3 (given the circumstances). Well done! Awesome!

Lovely image John. Amazing that you captured all three in a nice head position. A wonderful background to compliment the birds and reed. Thank you for sharing.

Cute! Love the three little ones and their poses. They look very inquisitive. Colors of the background are just a bit strong for my taste and the details on the top one look a bit smeary.

    Thanks all
Grace- like I said- Iwas lucky to get anything near sharp! As each bird landed the perch would bounce up and down like on a spring. As you know, birds have the abiklity to keep the head still whist moving up and down, so thats why the heads are better than the rest.

    Thanks again

Agree with others.....mega-cute. I like how two of them are obviously looking at something down to the right and the middle one just doesn't seem to care about it!

Very nice one indeed, and with nice light. I would try to tone the BG light and colour, a tad is I believe is a tad overpowering. Thanks for sharing.

Yes the evening sun has brought out the colours in the Willow herb and Ragwort and other flowers in the back.plus the red sany earth. I left it to try to convey the time of day. I,ll have a play later- should be easy enough .
    Thanks

No. I like the first one much better with the color in the BG. Also the repost has turned the birds a green hue. I really like this frame and the poses are all great and look very inquisitive. The thin perch and the multi colored Bg set this one off nicely. One of my faves from you!
