I was out at my favorite marsh just after sunrise this morning at Circle B Bar Reserve in Polk County, Florida. The Black-bellied Whistling Ducks are returning for the winter. This is one of the images I captured this morning. Comments and critique are welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Beautiful shot! The bird really stands against the bright sky BG. I would try to recover some more details.

Tough light to be working in Joe. I agree with Binu that it would be good to see more detail in the dark parts but I understand this might also bring up the noise. Well done, Ian

Hi Joseph, we have a few of these guys at our local pond in Pretoria. They dont even come from this part of the world. I like the wingspan and that the head is clear of the far wing. The high key works for me, but would try and recover more details from the underwings.

You could have gone +1.7 or +2 on the EV, but you would have had to raise the ISO to maintain the SS. I like the incoming pose, and the subject looks sharp as posted. If mine I'd compose the image to have the duck lower in the frame. That Circle B Bar Reserve looks to be giving you lots tons opportunities!
