    Huntington Beach, California

Taken a month ago I was happy when this Heron decided to pop up and perch right in front of me
posing for some shots before it flew away..... Off to Nikon today to pick up my D300 and 600mm
I had focusing issues with the D300 and also had the techs look over the lens:(

    1/500 F8 ISO 400

    Thanks For looking

Great light, details and BG. The only thing I wouldn't miss is the branch in the FG covering part of the feet.

One of my old local spots! Was this Bolsa?

Really like the light and the bright orange legs but I have to agree with Axel about the feet. Good image no matter. Really like the soft blue BG!

    Good work Jim.

Thanks Robert for the comment. Yes this shot was taken at Bolsa :)

This place has changed alot in the past couple of years with the restoration of the Wetlands with the Tidal flow
coming from the Pacific Ocean . Also the muted flow at the lower Mesa all for the better....;)

    Cheers,
    Jim

Great light here James and nice BG. Classic pose of this species and great eye contact. Agree with Axel about the perch. Sorry to hear about your problems with the gear :(
