    This Skimmer and two Snowy Egrets were taking advantage of the early morning shallows as the tide was going out in one of the channels at Brigantine several weeks ago. C&C welcome.


    D700, Nikon 500mm + 1.4 tc, 1/2000, f 7.1, ISO 1000, Gitzo tripod, Wimberley Gimbal head.

    Great timing. I have never seen a skimmer skimming that close to other birds, so this is neat.

    I like the skimmers diagonal path across the frame, and the relatively smooth water where he is working.

    I would be tempted to try a version with some space off the left and a sliver off the bottom. Even though the left snowy is looking to the left, the action really is the skimmer, so let him dictate the composition.
