    Beautiful image, Jeff! :) I have these guys flying in and out of my backyard lately and am amazed at how much more vibrant they are than a Male Northern Cardinal. Your reds look accurate, but maybe a bit washed out on the top side. (that is looking at it at my uncalibrated work monitor)

    Thanks Mike, I see the washed out red but is the result of my post-processing efforts. The raw image is toned down more.

    Great pose and details, I'd love to see one of these at eye level. The reds look a bit oversaturated on my monitor and I might clone out the vertical branch crossing the beak. Maybe also a bit less contrast for more details in the blacks.

    I was photographing these guys myself ths week. What a treat to be around such stunning birds. I agree the reds look pretty hot on this guy. The BG could be cleaned up a bit too if you so choose. Either way its a stunner!
