This is a young male that has just thrown off his stags , LOL , more like spikes ......

    EF 500 IS L + 1,4 TC
    Tripod

    F 5,6 ; Iso 6400 ; 1/500 sec

Processed with DPP 4 and PS CC ; slight crop for comp and very little gardening .

Hope you like it , thanks fro watching and commenting to my previous thread.

    Cheers Andreas

Hi Andreas - I had never heard of pudu so had to Google it. Thanks for adding some diversity of species. A nice profile, well processed. I like the glossy eye and nose.

    Hi Andreas

Have heard on Puku, not Pudu?! Well, we learn everyday!

Like the wet nose and the detail.

Would maybe want some more space in front and less at bottom?
    Regards

    Andre.

First time I learn of Pudu, so well done introducing us to another species! Well processed image from you Andreas, I like the comp as is and especially the way the subject "enters" the space given, geometry here very pleasing for me Beautiful colours and that glint in the eye makes this even more special, this little wet nose shows signs of good health and I love the alert pose.

No Pudu here so you'll have to make do with Kudu, or Koedoe...Lots of lion sightings lately in the Hluhluwe Game Reserve, just ten minutes' away from home...so we'll have to come home from work and look at your stunning images trying not to show how jealous we are

Hope you're packing, nine sleeps to go...

Hi Andreas, nice wee fellow, like the intense gaze.

Crop works and the warm, late Summer colours are also nice, but personally I feel the greens need to be pegged back a bit, or the subject masked from the BKG as the colours look cleaner (I say this, as I know you like this info, but there is a nice mid grey)

Thanks folks for your comments , much appreciated .
I like the crop as presented , Andre , and have no more room on LHS sadly .Cropped from bottom and right .

Steve i was struggling with the WB on this one , the whole image had a strong greenish cast due to our wonderful old trees that are standing in our Zoo giving nice cool places for visitors and animals in hot summer month and resulting in this nice green casts in many images i take in the Zoo.
Where are the colors cleaner ? subject or BKG ?
will check the nice mid grey and see what it does
    Cheers Andreas

I know the feeling, just running through some images over the last few days with similar issues.

I just found that pulling the Green back in HSL (Saturation, if you do it in Luminance you loose some contrast) the subject looked better, but then mask to retain the nice vibrant BKG. You will have better success with the RAW, so you may need to toggle with other colours i.e. yellow??? As I said, just a thought as I know you want this scale of feedback, but it might just be my old we yes playing tricks.

What a lovely little animal Andreas. Never saw one, never heard of such, guess I need to go in a zoo for a change. All is said already, and the eye……
Crop works for me, even that I would love a bit more space, but this is me. You need to like it, not me

    Ciao

Thanks Anette for your feedback , you should look into my EYES ........... maybe in the future .

I worked a bit on color as per Steve and the crop as per you and Andre , added canvas to top and LHS .

    Cheers Andreas
