    Default Rufous Songlark (Cincloramphus mathewsi)

    Taken at Australian Arid Lands Botanical Garden. Female bird taken on 26/7/14...
    used my sunroof and beanbag for support. call used.
    f/6.3, 1/400, iso 100 +0.7
    slight crop 5% from left, slight sharpen on resized file.

    Nice bird, cool that you photographed it singing. Light is also good.

    Nice capture Merv, technically good, tastefully composed. I like the eye contact and the bird in song fits the family name. Looks like you had a tricky background but you have handled it well and it is in harmony with the drab plumage of the bird. Well done. Cheers, Ian

    I like the singing pose, nice perch, and splayed tail feathers. Sharp with plenty of detail. The BG is OK for the most part but I'd look into toning down the brighter areas and then adding a bit of saturation there (looks like there is a bit of blue in there already) - it might make it even better.
