The AFS Nikkor 300VR lens produces what maybe is, in my opinion, the better or the second better “bokeh” in the Nikon line-up. In terms of “bokeh” quality the Nikkor 200VR is probably its unique rival in such field and here is a good example of the performance of the 300VR. I made this portrait of a golden eagle about two years ago on a falconry event. I was trying my new 300VR lens and had a lot of fun portraying several birds of prey but, unfortunately, there was no chance for flights and that was my initial intention.
Hope you like and I would love to read your comments and critics. :)

I love the colors.......and how the BG so compliments the bird. The detail is magnificent. It almost has a 3D quality and I think that if I touch the screen I'll actually feel the softness of the feathers. It's one of the most realistic digital portraits of a bird that I've seen in a long time. Excellent!!!

From the beak, the eye ball, nose hairs, excelent details, almost life life to the touch. Very nice portrait. A regal pose as well.

I love the curve of the beak all the way around to the curve of the neck feathers. It takes your eyes on a beautiful ride!
