just did not want to write , Antarctic Fur Seal in the title .

I scrolled through folders and stumbled over this , grabbed my because of the pose of the front seal and the juxtaposed second seal.
Image is a bit tight , not much i can do because it is FF.

    Canon EOS 1D MK IV
    Ef 500 IS L

    F 8 ; Iso 1000 ; 1/ 640 sec

Processed with PhotoNinja and PS CC ; PhotoNinja because of blown HL , better HL recovery than DPP .

Thanks for watching and commenting to my previous posting

Hi Andreas - Great poses and looks to camera. I agree with your self-assessment that the image is a bit tight. I like the rocky habitat but wish for more dof for both to be in focus. IQ doesn't look up to your usual posts. Particularly on the chest and side of the in focus seal, it looks a little grainy. Maybe it has something to do with the highlight recovery.

Hi Andreas -- Great eye contact, pose, and detail in the left subject. I also like the OOF subject in the back to add context and depth. Agree with Rachel about the IQ, especially on the right subject which is quite grainy.

Hi Andreas, I agree with Rachel's comments and although it's a 'grab' shot, just moving the whole frame a fraction more to the left would have been better I feel.

Thanks Rachel , Mark and Steve.
Not coming from HL recovery , coming from detail layer , forgot to reduce.
But was also not happy with the colors .
So completely reworked with DPP and not PhotoNinja
This time a lot cooler look and overall less color , reflecting more the shooting circumstances , dull grey day .

    WDYT ?

    Cheers Andreas

You were there so have a better idea, but I quite like some of the warmer tones within the subject in the OP.

    Hello Andreas!

I love the OP, some of those lovely colours unfortunately lost in the RP ( although now I like the space you allow on the LHS). Very cute subjects and beautiful elegant pose, BG is great and I like the 3D effect here, very much. I also like to see the feet/ flippers...
And I am kind of jealous of this, the comp is really superb and very, very aesthetically pleasing...congrats Andreas

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea
