The Long-billed Corella is a medium-sized cockatoo of the same genus (Cacatua) as the Sulphur-crested Cockatoo. It is found in S.E. Australia and Tasmania with a few in my area. It flies fast and somewhat pigeon-like making flight shots difficult. This is my best capture although compromised by the 'hard' shadows under the wings. The bird was flying towards me until it saw me raise the camera, causing it to bank sharply.

I agree with your self-critique Ian.
That wing in shadow takes away from an otherwise great flight shot.
Love the fanned tail and the sharpness of the face,

Thanks for your feedback Andreas, Gail and Shawn. In this repost I have brightened the shadows and increased the brightness of the bird up to about 240 digital numbers on its crown. Regards, Ian
