This was taken in Costa Rica earlier this year. I like the way the Parakeet is cradled by the tree. All C&Cs are welcome and appreciated.

    Jim:

I agree that the framing from the trunk is good, as is the cute look back pose.. Shooting angle pretty flat for this situation, which is good.

I might tone down the green bars intersecting the birds head, just a bit.

    Cheers

Nice looking look back pose and the detail and colors look great. Love the crisp eye. Good point by Randy about the leaf in back of the head. Another nice one from CR. Well done Jim

The others have covered the background issue but on the plus side, it's a splendid capture Jim with a lovely pose and nice composition, well done. Regards, Ian

I like the image design...Great over the shoulder pose from the bird. I think toning down the highlights in the bg vegetation is definitely worth exploring. It's great to see more of your work sir.

Hi Jim , very nice over the shoulder look of the Parakeet.
Good detail and very nice colors . I am fine with the BKG . I feel the tones are a bit thin , so a slight mid tone boost will give more depth in tone/color . Image has no color profile embedded !
    Over all very nice one.

Thanks everyone for the comments and suggestions. I will do a version with the leaf toned down.
Andreas thanks for the heads up on the color profile, I have it sorted out now and repost looks good.
