    Default Green Heron.

This is a location that I frequent in hope of finding Green Herons and Black-crowned Night Herons.
Light direction is never ideal, but I have the bird and that's what counts.
    Thanks for looking.

Nice feather detail & sharpness on the face & body, Karl. Nice BG too. These birds know what we want in terms of light and they will hardly ever give us the best positions!

Loving the colour tones here, Karl. Light looks quite fine here, do you mean the pure golden light is never on them in this location?

Excellent image, Karl. Very nice pose and composition with nice habitat. Beautiful colors and great details in feathers. Love the eye and stare.

Hi Karl, great fishing pose, and lots of detail showing up. I really like the colours on this fellow, and nicely separated from the BG.

Hi Karl nice pose of the bird on a pleasing perch .Lovely colors and comp. Good detail and overall tone /contrast.
Only suggestion would be , reduce the contrast in the BKG for a large amount and you have the subject standing out even more .

I like the pose and perch. Light looks very good and angled well so that spot of yours looks like it can yield some good stuff. Minor tweaks, if mine, would be to fill in the upper right black areas, tone down the legs, and try to blend in the yellowish area above the bill. All else looks great, and I like the low angle you got here. I also appreciate that you kept a layer of water along the bottom edge.

Great looking frame Karl. You sure had a good Heron season. Love the pose and the eye contact. Techs look great too. The re-post looks better. Well done
