The bird is a bit past me ( i do have one with the "preferred" incoming pose) but I like this image because it shows the detail on the back and wings and the little tuft on head.

Striking flight shot of the rarest Eider species, Gail. Excellent wing and tail position. There might be a little blue cast in the whites.

Good shot with nice wing position. I think I see a bit of blue cast in the whites too.

    Cheers, Tom

Hi Gail, agree nice shot with a very lovely wingspread .
Like the overall color/tone palette , but agree about blue creeping in , in parts . Plus i would watch the whites , think more detail could be extracted .

Good job in getting this shot ,TFS Andreas

Hi Gail, the Eider really pops in this, and I quite like this flight pose - as you say, it shows off the top side nicely. Great view of the splayed tail too. I do like the placement of the Eider.

Great looking flight frame Gail. Love the pose and wing position and the head and eye look fantastic. Nice BG too as it fades from habitat to cream. A tricky duck to expose for and looks to me like you nailed it getting lots of detail in the darks and recovering the whites well. Great work!

Nice one Gail! I'm glad you got this. I like the head tuft showing and the blue tint in the wings as well. Nice background.
