yes !!! but only underwater , that`s what i thought when i saw this guy flapping his wings /flippers lying flat on the sand .
    Funny behavior shot i think.
I am not 100 % happy with BKG , tried different variations was not happy with one . so leave it as is in the original .

This image is just awesome and brought a big smile to my face! It's unique. It looks as though it's practicing its swimming on land. I am good with the BG since it clearly depicts snow. Love the color palette here.

Great song!! Title goes well with the image too.... The pose is just awesome. Techs and processing perfect. I love the colour of the ground too as it ties in nicely with the overall image. I too sometimes digitally mess around with aspects of an image only to return to its original form after all...

Another great image, Andreas. The BG is fine IMO. The colors are simply beautiful and love the story captured so well.

Fun shot and love that pose.
I can see why you tried to alter the BG. I do find the strip of snow a bit distracting but not a deal breaker.
I would clone out the specular highlights under the penguins' right wing and soften the diagonal double white line that is running parallel to the right wing

Awesome behaviour captured Andreas. Super colours and great pose. As you say the BG is not awesome but it does not detract from the image IMO and the rest of the image is super. TFS

Awesome low angle, pose and detail/clarity Andreas. I didn't even really notice the BG until you mentioned it

Very engaging! I like and appreciate the low angle approach and the fact that the bill is not merging with the bird's right wing...perfect. I hope you are referring to Pearl Jam's song....I'll love the image even more :)
